Your ruler Mars is standing across the zodiac from Pluto right now — and the force you've been pushing against isn't resistance. It's a mirror. The question is whether you're ready to see what's actually reflected back.
Mars sits at nearly 10° Leo, locked in an opposition to retrograde Pluto at 3° Aquarius — a face-off between your ruler's drive and the slow, underground power of transformation. Simultaneously, Mars is forming an almost exact trine to retrograde Saturn in Aries, giving that confrontational energy a rare structural backbone. The Moon in Sagittarius forms a trine to Jupiter in Leo, opening a genuine current of optimism beneath the tension.
The Mars-Pluto opposition has been building for days, and today it's the dominant weather in your sky. Here's what this actually looks like from inside your life: there is something you've been pressing for — a situation, a dynamic, a relationship — where you've been operating from what you believe is your authority. Mars in Leo does want authority. But Pluto, retrograde in Aquarius, is the older, slower power, and right now it's pushing back across the zodiac, asking you to account for where your force is actually coming from. This is not defeat. This is an audit.
Here is the gift hidden in the pressure: Mars is simultaneously forming an almost-exact trine to Saturn in Aries. That is a rare stabilizing current running beneath the confrontation. It means that if you meet Pluto's challenge with discipline rather than ego — if you respond to the resistance by getting more structured rather than more forceful — you'll find that the opposition is, paradoxically, pointing you toward real and durable power. The trine to Saturn is your footing. Use it.
Mercury is in your sign at nearly 17° Scorpio, and it's squaring Mars, which means your mind is already generating the sharp, penetrating analysis you're known for. You can see through the situation. Be careful that what you're seeing is the situation and not your preferred version of it. Venus is also in your sign, retrograde, which means what you want is undergoing a quiet internal revision whether you're conscious of it or not. The Moon trine Jupiter in Leo offers a genuine current of expansiveness — an invitation to consider that the outcome you've been gripping might not actually be the one that fits who you're becoming.
A retrograde Venus in your sign is revising your desires from the inside out — what you reach for today may not be what you actually need, and that's worth sitting with before you act.
Mars trine Saturn is an almost-exact structural blessing: ambition paired with discipline lands with genuine weight right now, so bring your most organized self to the confrontation, not your most reactive one.
The Mars-Pluto opposition is asking you to distinguish between power you've earned and power you've simply assumed — the honest answer is the one that moves you forward.
““Mars gives the boldness to begin, but it is Saturn that grants the staying power to finish — and only where these two agree does the work endure.””
TranslationWith Mars trine Saturn exact in your sky today, Lilly's logic lands directly: the confrontation Pluto is offering you is not won by force alone, but by the union of drive and structure — both of which are available to you right now.
Before you respond to the thing that is pushing back at you today, write down in one sentence what you actually want from the outcome — not what you want to win, but what you want to be true when it's over.
