Mercury in Scorpio is squaring Jupiter in Leo right now — and the plan you've been quietly convinced is genius has just hit the part where the math doesn't work. You don't know yet if it needs a small adjustment or a full demolition.
Your ruler Mercury sits at 15° Scorpio, forming a square to Jupiter at nearly 22° Leo — that's an expansive mind running into its own inflation, the brilliant pitch meeting the budget it forgot to write. The Waxing Crescent Moon at 23° Scorpio joins Mercury's territory today, amplifying what you feel you know, while the Sun in Libra sextiles Jupiter with just enough grace to suggest the wreckage is recoverable. Mercury also carries a separate square to Mars, so the friction isn't just internal — someone may push back, and sooner than you'd like.
Here is the very Virgo trap Mercury square Jupiter sets: you have done the research, you have checked the details, you have assembled a genuinely persuasive case — and then somewhere between the idea and its execution, scope crept in wearing your own handwriting. Jupiter in Leo doesn't lie, exactly; it just rounds up. Aggressively. The square from your ruler in Scorpio is the moment the rounding gets noticed, either by you or, more uncomfortably, by someone whose opinion costs you something.
The good news — and the Sun-Jupiter sextile is real good news — is that the underlying bones of what you're building are sound. This isn't a sign to abandon the project or the conversation or the pitch. It's a sign to run the numbers one more time, specifically the numbers you skipped because they made the picture slightly less beautiful. Scorpio Mercury can do this work; it sees what other signs look away from. The discomfort of today is the discomfort of precision meeting ambition, which is, for you, not a crisis but a craft problem.
The Moon in Scorpio sharpens your instincts into something close to sonar right now — you will feel the flaw before you can name it. Trust that feeling enough to stop and look, even if the timing is inconvenient. Especially if the timing is inconvenient. The crescent phase asks you to build carefully, not boldly. What you correct in the next forty-eight hours doesn't slow you down; it keeps you from having to explain yourself in a month.
Something you've presented as certainty in a close relationship may be carrying more assumption than fact — a gentle audit now costs far less than a defended argument later.
The big-picture vision is genuinely good; the proposal, the plan, the pitch just needs its weakest number strengthened before it leaves your hands.
Notice where your confidence tipped into overconfidence — not to shrink yourself, but because catching your own inflation is the most Virgo superpower there is.
““Mercury rules the critical faculty, and when afflicted by Jupiter, the mind is prone to promise more than the hands can deliver.””
TranslationLilly was talking about this exact square — the eloquent overreach, the plan that sounds airtight until it meets reality's edges. Today's invitation is to be the editor of your own enthusiasm before someone else volunteers for the job.
Before you send, submit, or speak the Big Thing today, write down the one assumption inside it you haven't verified — just name it on paper, even if you don't fix it yet.
