Mars — your ruler — is in exact opposition to Pluto right now, to the degree, to the minute. Something you thought you controlled is staring back at you with its own agenda. Which one of you blinks first?
Mars sits at 3° Leo, locked in an exact opposition to Pluto at 3° Aquarius — your ruler is in a direct standoff with the planet of transformation, power, and what cannot be undone. Meanwhile, Mercury at 3° Scorpio is in your sign and in an equally exact square to that same Mars, meaning your words, your thinking, your private intelligence are caught directly in the crossfire. The Last Quarter Moon in Cancer adds a quiet emotional undertow — something is being released, whether you've chosen to release it yet or not.
Mars opposition Pluto is not a gentle transit, and you — of all signs — should not pretend it is. This is your ruler, in Leo, being stared down by the planet that governs your deepest terrain: power, death, transformation, the things people don't say in polite company. The opposition is exact today. That means the pressure that has been building in some relationship, some negotiation, some private internal war is not building anymore. It has arrived at the point of confrontation. The question is not whether this moment is happening. The question is whether you walk into it or let it walk into you.
Mercury in Scorpio is your instrument here — and it is squaring Mars with the same mathematical precision. What you know, what you've been sitting with in silence, what you have articulated only in your own head: that is the piece that either gets weaponized carelessly or deployed with full Scorpionic intention. There is a version of this day where you say the sharp true thing at exactly the right moment, and it lands cleanly. There is another version where you let the pressure make you imprecise. The difference between those two versions is about three seconds of pause before you open your mouth.
Venus is also in your sign, retrograde, slowly rewinding through territory you've already walked. She is not here to help you rush — she is here to make sure you haven't left something important behind. With the Moon in Cancer forming a trine to her, there is emotional intelligence available to you today that is softer and more accurate than the confrontational energy suggests. Use both. Let the Mars-Pluto opposition show you where the real power lives. Let Venus retrograde remind you what it's actually worth.
A face-off you've been postponing in a close relationship is peaking — what you choose to say (or not say) today has staying power.
Mercury in your sign squaring Mars means your instincts about a strategic move are sharp, but the delivery requires precision over force.
The screenshot-worthy line: Power is not the same as control — and today is the day the sky makes you prove you know the difference.
““Mars in opposition signifies open enemies and those who contend with the native face to face; but Pluto in hard aspect strips the matter to its irreducible core, leaving only what was always true.””
TranslationWhatever is in opposition to you today — a person, a circumstance, a version of yourself — it is showing you what was already there beneath the surface. Lilly would say: face the contender directly, and the real shape of the matter becomes unavoidable.
Before you speak the thing that's been building, write it down first — one sentence, exactly what you mean — and read it back to yourself once before you decide whether to say it aloud.
